Welcome to the 62nd installment of The Eagle Award Nominated Surreal Adventures of Edgar Allan Poo!

We appreciate you stopping by to join our grand adventure and hope you will continue to help spread the word. If not for you–and fine readers like yourself–we would never have been nominated for the auspicious Eagle Award. You, my friend, are a star… and we thank you for your continued support.

The Gloom - Week 22

Posted by TonyLee on Friday, April 11 2008 at 4:45 am

Ah, children - did you think we would make you wait longer? How could we! We love you! So here, in all it’s glory is the super sized, bumper edition of the never seen before pages that continue The Gloom from issue #3!

Carson Kane is shot, believed dead, fallen from a great height. I mean, honestly - he’s pretty screwed. And that’s where we left you last month…

In side news, Dan and I have both been nominated in the 2008 Eagle Awards for our comic Hope Falls, while I’ve been nominated as Best Newcomer Writer - I’d be remiss if I didn;t beg you like a cheap street walker to go over and vote for us in Best New Comic…

Secondly I’m at the New York Comic Con next week, so the next issue is possibly going to be late dependant on wifi connections and suchlike, but it should all be fine. If you’re there, come by and say hi at the Markosia booth and then walk over to the Ardden Entertainment booth and demand a The Gloom Hardcover from Richard Emms. If enough people beg, there’s a strong chance that we’ll have it out by the end of the year…

I’m also at The Comic Book Club on Tuesday night in NYC, and I’m on a panel with Andy Schmidt on the Friday evening at 7pm. Come see me, come say hi. And buy me a drink… Oh and LEAVE US A COMMENT!!!

And without further adieu… The SEASON THREE EXTENDED LENGTH PREMIERE!!!!!!

Okay, four pages of comic…

Thank you for joining us for the 61st page of The Surreal Adventures of Edgar Allan Poo!

We apologize for our short absence, but we assure you that it was due to the fact that we are busy completing Book 2. If you would like to get a taste of the second graphic novel, please check out the teaser pages posted by Jim Valentino on the Image forum.

Please join us next week for a rather spooky page. It’ll be worth your time–we promise.

Until then,
Dwight L. MacPherson (with Thomas Boatwright and Thomas Mauer)

THIS JUST IN: “The Surreal Adventures of Edgar Allan Poo” has made the final ballot for the Eagle Awards! And if that wasn’t enough, Edgar Allan Poo artist Thomas Boatwright has made the final ballot for favorite penciler and inker and Thomas Mauer for favorite letterer! This just may turn out to be the year of Edgar Allan Poo!

So please… take a few moments to visit THE EAGLE AWARDS VOTING PAGE and vote for “The Surreal Adventures of Edgar Allan Poo” in the Favourite Original Graphic Novel category and artist Thomas Boatwright in the Favourite Comics Artist: Pencils and Favourite Comics Artist: Inks categories and Thomas Mauer in the Favourite Letterer category! Don’t worry… our fine friends at the Eagle Awards have made the voting process entirely painless. All that is required to vote is a valid e-mail address and the entire process takes about 15 seconds to complete. You can’t beat that–right? And I can’t tell you how much we’d appreciate those precious seconds, so please… go vote!

Kid Houdini and the Silver Dollar Misfits, Page 22

Posted by DwightMacPherson on Wednesday, April 2 2008 at 1:36 am

Welcome, my friends, to the 22nd episode of Kid Houdini and the Silver Dollar Misfits!

I’m sad to say the strip is going on hiatus as we finish up the graphic novel for publication. With the Kid Houdini graphic novel, Poo Book 2 and another project at Shadowline/Image, my schedule is absolutely insane. And that’s not counting three other books I’m co-writing, college and raising three boys by myself.

Insanity.

I would ask that you PLEASE pre-order the Kid Houdini graphic novel if you have not already done so. You will find it in the new Previews on Page 354. The Diamond Order Code is:

APR08 4171

As you can see, we’re departing on a bit of a cliff-hanger. But… isn’t that appropriate for a good mystery serial?

Thank you for your continued support, my friends! We’ll be back before you know it.

-Dwight L. MacPherson (with Worth Gowell and Kevin Conley)
