Kid Houdini and the Silver Dollar Misfits, Page 22

Posted by DwightMacPherson on Wednesday, April 2 2008 at 1:36 am

Welcome, my friends, to the 22nd episode of Kid Houdini and the Silver Dollar Misfits!

I’m sad to say the strip is going on hiatus as we finish up the graphic novel for publication. With the Kid Houdini graphic novel, Poo Book 2 and another project at Shadowline/Image, my schedule is absolutely insane. And that’s not counting three other books I’m co-writing, college and raising three boys by myself.

Insanity.

I would ask that you PLEASE pre-order the Kid Houdini graphic novel if you have not already done so. You will find it in the new Previews on Page 354. The Diamond Order Code is:

APR08 4171

As you can see, we’re departing on a bit of a cliff-hanger. But… isn’t that appropriate for a good mystery serial?

Thank you for your continued support, my friends! We’ll be back before you know it.

-Dwight L. MacPherson (with Worth Gowell and Kevin Conley)

Wow! :( This is news to me friends and fans. The preceding 22 pages are my Freshman effort at coloring a sequential story, and I hope I’ve entertained the fans of this webbie. Thanks to Vito for giving us the launch and fan base! My Sophomore pages…inspired by Worth’s visuals are stunning. My Junior pages are bold, and experimental. I promise you, friends and fans, I’ll be graduating with honors!
See you in the funny pages!

So these first 22 pages will be the story in the Free Comic Book Day offering, right? I can’t wait to have that AND the GN. My son is a big fan of Scooby so I bet he’ll love it. :)

As I expected, the Misfits have all grown on me now that I know more about their characters. He may be a grump, but I bet Hans comes in handy when there’s a bad guy around.

Enjoy your break, :( and I wish you guys the best of luck with the GN. The pre-orders for the free book are quite high for an “indy” title, so I hope it brings in the young readers. There aren’t enough all-ages books out there, in my opinion.

See ya in May!

Hey, Bathfrog! That is correct. This first chapter will be included in the FCBD book. There is also a short “The Sleepy Truth” preview in the book as well. It’s another all-ages book that your son may enjoy. You can find out more about it here:

Thanks for your support, my friend. I can’t tell you how much I personally appreciate you. ;-)

I just read the preview of The Sleepy Truth. WOW. Thanks for letting me know it existed! It reminds me of Monster House’s tone and I liked Monster House a lot! I’m going to poke around the Viper website and see what else they have. Thanks for the suggestion! :)
