Kid Houdini and the Silver Dollar Misfits, Page 14

Welcome one and all to the 14th installment of Kid Houdini and the Silver Dollar Misfits!
My buddy Jack Lawrence of “Lions, Tigers and Bears” fame sent a cover illustration for the graphic novel today that absolutely blew me away! Now before you ask “Exactly how many covers do you have already,” let me simply say there is a method to our madness. Please bear with us and we’ll reveal “the plan” as soon as we are able to.
And with that, I need to get back to work. Yikes, that Deadline Monster is a beast–and a ravished beast at that!
Thanks for reading and helping to spread the word. YOU ARE APPRECIATED!

Oh wow. The colors are looking really great! And uh…where did that snake thing come from? What’s that little girl hiding under her cloak?

I agree, Nick. Kevin’s doing a smashing job!
You’ll have to wait and find out where the snake came from, but suffice it to say that Lydia is known as “Lydia the snake girl.”
Thanks for reading, buddy!

Thanks for the kind words, Nick! I’d never done ‘firelight’ prior to this page, and worked hard to get the right effect. Stay tuned for more, as The Mystery of the Lost Miner’s Gold continues…!

And off we go! The story is really starting to move along nicely! Each page shows off a little more about the Misfits. The glow of the fire on the last three panels was also very well done.
How many pages will the FCBD story “reprint”? Looking forward to seeing more! Keep up the good work, guys!

Thanks, Bathfrog! We appreciate you taking the time out to read our strip each week! We’re also happy you’re enjoying it. ^_^
The FCBD book will feature the first 22 pages (1st chapter) of the graphic novel. It will also reveal the cover image we decided on… so that should be cool.
Thanks again,
D
