The Gloom - Week 7

Posted by TonyLee on Friday, November 30 2007 at 5:19 am

And so, my little chickadees, today’s installment of The Gloom has been brought to you in association with shock, awe and excitement. For today’s installment of the exciting 1940’s pulp noir hero introduces a new character - Doc Adventure!

(Who in no way whatsoever is Doc Savage. Uh-huh. No way jose. Honest. Would we lie to you.)

Anyway, enjoy, reply and do whatever else you reading deviants do! Remember that Daddy Dan and Daddy Tony love you!

(but we’re not buying you Christmas presents…)

As promised, after turkey and cranberry (and in Tom’s case, copious amounts of comics at Mid-Ohio Con), poor Federico is back, and getting no love from subway riders…

(Just joining us? Catch up on Federico here, and check out the previous Styx Taxi stories: Pastrami for the Dead, Sing Along, Encore for my Babies, A Coda Vita, Rosa, and Dinner Date #9.)

Art, as always, is by the inimitable Tom Williams. Join us next Thursday for more!

Kid Houdini and the Silver Dollar Misfits, Page 5

Egads! It’s the evil Professor Murat! Surely they’re in for it now…

Welcome back, gentle readers. We thank you for joining us for the fifth installment of Kid Houdini and the Silver Dollar Misfits.

We are happy to announce that we have a publisher for the first volume of Kid Houdini’s adventures–but I’m not going to make an official statement until next week. You know… just want to ensure that a few last formalities are ironed out before I spill the beans. Fun times.

Oh, and be sure to add Kid Houdini as your very own Myspace friend. He’s oh so ornery.

Once again, the team thanks you for joining us–and we’ll see you next week. Please be sure to leave a comment if you enjoy the strip. We would all appreciate it.

Until next week,
Dwight L. MacPherson (with Worth Gowell and Kevin Conley)

The Surreal Adventures of Edgar Allan Poo: Page 47

Welcome to the 47th installment of The Surreal Adventures of Edgar Allan Poo!

As you guessed, I could not pass up the opportunity to use the famous “Nevermore” quote. You may, however, be surprised to see just what “Nevermore” means in the Land of Terra Somnium.

As always, thanks to those who take the time to read.

Until next week,
Dwight L. MacPherson (with Thomas Boatwright and Thomas Mauer)

The Gloom - Week 6

Posted by TonyLee on Friday, November 23 2007 at 5:52 am

Well hello there my little chums! I hope that the colonials amongst you all have sated yourself with turkey and stuffing, have watched your sports and are continuing your four day holiday with vigour, remembering that day, many years ago when your forefathers were so crap at project planning that they forgot to get more food from the Wall Mart and had to go ask their neighbours for a cup of… well, everything.

In the UK, we don’t have Thanksgiving, so we have to carry on working. We called yesterday ‘Thursday’. It doesn’t have quite the same ring to it.

Still, if we had been on holiday, then you wouldn’t have had a wonderful double page treat of The Gloom today, would you? So everything is done for a reason. Although I would have preferred some turkey and a day off…

Anyway, enjoy!

Due to holiday crunches of various kinds, Tom and I will have to hold off on this week’s update until next week… but we’ll be back in a week for extra-sized zombiliciousness!

Have a happy, healthy and safe Turkey Day, everyone, and see you back here next Thursday!

Welcome back to The Chemistry Set! My, you’re looking well. You must work out–don’t you?

Ah, of course you do.

As always, we thank you for joining us for what we believe is a unique and fun experience for kids of all ages. Yes… even old duffers like Worth. HA HA HA! Yeah–he’ll get me for that one.

Well, I need to get back to another fun and exciting paper (yes, I’m being sarcastic) for my Shakespeare class so I will say so long for now and see you next week.
